Who needs to take this training at JEMCare?
All JEMCare direct service staff, including those providing CFTSS or HCBS services, are required to complete this training as part of their compliance and professional development.
Why is this training important?
It helps staff provide more effective, respectful, and inclusive care by recognizing and addressing cultural differences that may impact client engagement and outcomes.
Is this training required every year?
Yes. As of January 1, 2025, all direct care staff, including HCBS and CFTSS providers, must complete the Cultural Competency Training annually in compliance with JEMCare Agency guidelines.
Will I be reminded before it expires?
Yes. HR and Dragon will send expiration reminders beginning 60 days before your training expires. It is your responsibility to act before the expiration date.
I have already taken the Cultural Competency Training. Can I use that certificate?
If you completed the training within the past 12 months through the official Think Cultural Health Training site, you do not need to retake it. Please email your valid certificate of completion to hr@jemcare.org so it can be reviewed and recorded. Certificates from third-party sources or alternate platforms will not be accepted.
